The Buena Vista City Council approved a rezoning request from residential to commercial to clear the way for a local nonprofit to relocate, tentatively set its millage (property tax) rate, and discussed various other items during recent meetings.
The Council gave the okay for rezoning a lot at 226 North Baker Street (near the "big curve" before you get to Dent Hardware from the downtown area) to allow for Community's Heart to Heart to relocate there. The nonprofit is currently located in the warehouse at 115 Fifth Avenue, just off "The Square" but plans to move to the new location, where it now owns the land.
