The Marion County High varsity girls basketball team claimed the first-place trophy in the J.B. Hawkins Holiday Tournament last weekend.
The Lady Eagles won their games over Crawford County (46-19) and Twiggs County (43-26) to claim the title.
Against Crawford County on December 28, Sage Davis and Tray Garmin led the way with 22 points and 5 assists between them. Jamaya Crumbley and Angel Ellington each had 10 rebounds.
After struggling in the first quarter against Twiggs County, the Lady Eagles put on a defensive masterpiece to hold them to only one point in the second quarter and only 3 points in the third quarter.
