The Marion County Recreation Department swung into the 2026 baseball, softball, and t-ball season with a special Opening Day last Friday, March 20.
The "Rec Fields" were packed full of people there to play, watch, and cheer. This year Marion County has fielded 10 teams. There are 116 players forming one 4 & Under team, two 6 & Under teams, two 8 & Under teams, two 10 & Under teams, one 12 & Under baseball team, as well as one 8 & Under softball team, and one 15 & Under softball team.
The players were all introduced and took the field alongside their coaches for recognition before the National Anthem and a prayer by Jeff Johnson.
