 After more than two decades of local public service, Marion County Tax Commissioner Phylis Blocker has retired. She shares the thoughts below with our readers.
 "After dedicating 24 years of service in the Tax Commissioner's Office of Marion County, including 17 years as your Tax Commissioner, I am announcing my retirement as of April 1, 2026. Being elected as your Tax Commissioner has been one of the greatest honors of my life. The trust you placed in me is something I have never taken lightly, and it has meant more to me than words can express.
