The Schley County High varsity baseball team took a commanding lead in the race for the Region 6 title by sweeping its two-game series with region rival Marion County last week.
The Wildcats improved to 12-5 overall and 5-1 in Region 6. Taylor County is second in the region at 3-1, but still has a pair of region contests against Crawford County and Marion County, while Schley has just one region series remaining against Chattahoochee County.
Game One: Schley won the first game over Marion County by a score of 12-0 last Tuesday. The Wildcats led 6-0 after 5 innings and wrapped it up with a huge 6-run sixth inning. Big plays in the big inning included a double by Caleb Renfroe and singles by Jacob Little and Cameron Player.
