Marion Wins Second Scrimmage to take Momentum into Season Opener

 A sense of redemption hung in the air under the Friday Night Lights on August 14, as the Eagles hosted the Class 3A Jordan High Red Jackets in their final preseason scrimmage. The Eagles, coming off a grueling 1-9 season, looked like a transformed team, carrying momentum from their recent 16-4 scrimmage win over Hardaway the week before into their final preseason tune-up.
 Marion County wasted no time making a statement. In the first drive of the game, sophomore quarterback Marcus Rainey unleashed a 57-yard touchdown bomb to Kay Kelley. Kunyae Clayton punched in the two-point conversion, giving the Eagles an 8-0 lead just over a minute into the game.
