New Roundabout Opens in Cusseta

If you'll be travelling through Cusseta at the intersection of US Highway 280, US Highway 27 (State Route 520), and Wells Street, be aware of the opening of a new roundabout. Local officials had requested that the Georgia Department of Transportation do something to improve safety at the intersection for years.
Now, a new roundabout is open. Ironically, it may cause some accidents in the near term simply because drivers familiar with the old pattern may be surprised by the change. Sheriff Hank Lynch reported that they had an accident on the first official day, but there were no injuries.
