Marion residents can get free tax help

Way back in 1787, Benjamin Franklin wrote, "Our new Constitution is now established. Everything seems to promise it will be durable; but, in this world, nothing is certain except death and taxes."
Those words proved prophetic, as not only are Americans still paying taxes, but paying them at a much higher rate. However, there is help available for most people.
The Marion County Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Office can't get you out of paying your taxes, but it can get you out of paying someone to help you file them.
