At the Schley County Family Connection Collaborative Annual Plan DATA Review, Coordinator John Greene welcomed Schley County School Superintendent Brian Hall. Hall discussed Georgia House Bill 268.
The bill includes funding for panic alert systems and tools for anonymous reporting, efforts to improve discipline, and suicide and violence prevention training. It requires parents to disclose any serious discipline or criminal records of their children. A student who misses 30 days in a row must be reported to child welfare agencies. Students as young as 13 can now face felony charges for terroristic threats or acts
Hall said that the Legislature did a good job on writing the bill and that Safety Coordinator Rodney Wall has improved the safety plan for the schools. All...
