Marion High Hires New Ad and Softball Coach

Marion County High School recently tapped a local resident and longtime area educator/coach to be the new athletic director and head softball coach.
Ronnie Wiggins, 54, is coming off a spectacular season leading the Taylor County High School softball team, which won the Region 6 Championship and finished third in the State Championship Tournament. It was the third region title in a row for the Lady Vikings.
"I was born and raised in Geneva and have lived in Marion County for 30 years," said Wiggins, adding that becoming athletic director at his hometown school that's only six miles from his house was an offer too good to resist, even though he enjoyed his time at Taylor County.
