Schley May Be Included in Big Multi-County Trail

 The Schley County Commissioner discussed a variety of items during its recent monthly meeting. One of the most interesting is a potential multi-county project that is still in the idea phase.
 The commissioners were briefed on the River Valley Regional Commission securing funding for a regional "Rails to Trails" feasibility study for a very long trail that would ultimately connect Columbus with Americus - passing through Cusseta, Buena Vista, and Ellaville on the way.
 Rails to Trails projects are when inactive railroads are turned into biking/walking trails.
 County Manager Douglas Jamieson told the commissioners that if the project eventually gets approved, he does not anticipate the county government helping to pay for it.
